Rick Childers Earns MFA

Recovering Joy teaching artist Rick Childers recently completed his Master of Fine Arts degree at the Spalding Graduate School of Writing, Kentucky's first and longest-running MFA in writing program.

Rick now holds both an MAW & MFA from Spalding's program and has had the opportunity to study his craft with accomplished authors such as Angela Jackson-Brown, Silas House, Crystal Wilkinson, Wiley Cash, Robin Lippincott, Kirby Gann, and many others.

Along the journey, Rick has led discussion groups, taught lectures on Appalachian literature, completed his debut novel TURKEYFOOT, and is on his way to finishing his second novel.
